I just launched my new SaaS
An update on my 4-week build, launch, and monetise challenge
Recap
Just over 2 weeks ago I was feeling stuck. I hadn’t launched anything in 2024 due to idea overwhelm from the constant AI announcements.
I decided to give myself a 4-week challenge to Build, Launch, and Monetise a SaaS product (I’m trying to get the phrase “BLAM Challenge” to stick, is it working?).
I settled on a non-validated idea, but one I actually need myself. An automated interviewing tool to collect interviews and case studies for blogs and newsletters.
12hrs 48mins of building later…
Today, Tuesday 8th October, is the deadline I gave myself to launch this app.
So I launched it.
It’s imperfect, it has bugs, and it lacks features.
But it feels good to get it out there!
In total I’ve spent 12 hours 48 minutes building it.
I’m sure some Bubble devs would roll their eyes and say “what took you so long” 😄
But overall I think it’s pretty amazing what can be done in 13 hours.
Here is a walkthrough video of what it does and the parts of the build that have been the hardest.
I also did something I’ve never done before. I didn’t buy a new domain.
Instead I looked in my Namecheap account and found interviewfriend.com just sitting there, waiting to be used.
So that’s what it’s called.
You’re welcome to try it out, just please let me know if when you find bugs!
My plan for the next 2 weeks
The next 2 weeks were supposed to be the monetisation phase.
But I haven’t properly set up payments yet.
First (this week) I’m going to test it out by creating a few interview requests and trying to get some people to use it.
Once I’ve ironed out the inevitable bugs I’ll put in the paywall.
And then I’ll start doing some outreach to see if I can get at least one paying user.
If you have any ideas for industries or niches where this could be useful, please let me know.
That’s all for now.
